Over the last few years we’ve seen some incredibly solid results coming from the Husqvarna GNCC and National Enduro teams, going back to Glenn Kearney grabbing two XC1 podiums on TC250 and then a TC310 in 2010 to all of the great results brought to the FAR Husqvarna team by Jason Thomas and their newest team member, Andrew DeLong who has 9 XC2 podiums and 4 wins aboard the bike as well as one National Enduro podium about the Husky. The stigma of the Husqvarna brand is quickly becoming a distant memory as the FAR/Husqvarna team continues to put out solid results and keep their bikes running without issue at the grueling GNCC and NEPG events.
At the National Enduro round in Cross Fok, PA we took a look at DeLong’s Enduro weapon of choice, the Husqvarna TXC310. A quick glance at DeLong’s race bike makes it very clear that it is tuned by a veteran mechanic in Joey Mauer. Big Joe is team owner Fred Andrew’s brother-in-law and was Greg Albertyn’s mechanic during his 1999 250 Motocross Championship season and worked with riders like Kevin Windham as well so he has some serious wrenching credentials.
Freddy is a longtime friend of Pro Circuit’s Mitch Payton and the team continues to use his Pro Circuit exhausts on their machines. How good of a friendship? Go to the Pro Circuit website and try and find a TI-5 exhaust to fit a Husqvarna TXC-250 or 310 and tell me if you have any luck.
Genuine Dirt Rider, best known for tuning the WP Suspension of racers like Steward Baylor and Josh Strang have taken on the suspension duties for the team this year and have proven they can work on KYB stuff just as well as the WP stuff that you find on KTMs.
