Rides: Paul Whibley’s Factory YZ450F

Whibs' GNCC race machine is pretty trick!

Paul custom cuts his Cycra handguards.

When it comes to GNCC racing, there isn’t a pro rider that is more specific with his bike set-up than AmPro Yamaha’s Paul Whibley. Over the years we’ve watched Paul use various hand signals coming through the pits to let his team know which way he wants the clickers changed on his suspension during the next pit, and we’ve also seen some pretty trick additions to his bike to give him the ability to make adjustments on the fly. On the left side of his handlebars, Paul has a G2 Ergonomics fork bleeder that with the push of his thumb will bleed the air out of his front forks. Then on the right side he has a Vortex ignition map switch that will allow him to adjust the power delivery mid-race. On his Factory Connection tuned rear shock, Whibs has a G2 Ergonomics shock compression adjuster allowing him to reach down and make shock adjustments while riding.

In comparison to some other riders on pro row who we’ve heard haven’t changed suspension settings in years this might seem like overkill, but Paul has found what works for him and it’s tough to argue with his results. Check out a detailed list of what Whibs is running on his YZ 450F and some nice beauty shots of his steed below:
