Alright Josh, how’s it feel to be the first-ever interview on digitaloffroad.com?
It’s good! The site was up a couple months ago a little bit and I know you’ve been working on it and have it up and running now so I can’t wait to get home and check it out!

We’re here at Unadilla the day before the first round back from summer break. Tell us what you’ve been up to all summer, it’s been over 2 months since we’ve seen you.
Yeah, it has been a fair while and it feels really good to get back here. I went back home to Australia for three weeks and did a few motocrosses out there. When I got back I went straight out to Rodney Smith’s house and trained and rode out there. So that’s what I’ve been doing, the same stuff as normal but just not doing any races.

So since you haven’t done any off-road races since Snowshoe do you feel like you’ll have any rust to knock off tomorrow or will you be right where you left off at the last round?
I’ve been back in North Carolina for a few weeks, and you know you never really forget how to ride in the trees. I’ve been riding with Glenn Kearney and Charlie Mullins during the week and I know that my speed is still there so I should be good to go.

Talk to us a little bit about what happened at Snowshoe. I’m not sure if you remember everything that happened but it definitely didn’t end the way you had hoped.
That was actually the race I was looking forward to the least the whole year leading up to it. But, after the first two laps I was actually kind of into it. I was riding with Knighter and he and I were pulling away from the rest of the pack. So it was good to have gotten beat at the previous race [the John Penton GNCC] by over 4 minutes and then be able to pull away from the same guys that did that. I don’t think I would’ve been able to beat David, but to be able to ride with him and get a second would’ve been awesome. But, yeah, on the last lap I don’t really know what happened. Some people said that I crashed into a deer, others said I just crashed, either way it wasn’t too good. I ended up finishing 6th that day so all things considered it wasn’t too bad. I’m only down 13 points with 4 races to go so I feel like I’m still in it.

Speaking of these last four races, how do you feel the remaining tracks suit you?
I think I have a slight advantage, the tracks are a bit more motocrossy and the trees are a bit more open. This race is one that could be up in the air if it rains as the mud can kind of take the skill out of winning a race and brings so much more luck into it. I love the last three tracks, and I got my first-ever GNCC win at Yadkinville last year so I’m really looking forward to that one.

Alright man, I’ll let you go grab some dinner. Thanks so much for being our first interview and hopefully we can do another one tomorrow with you on top of the box.
Yeah, thanks it should be good!
